Hi! I'm Belinda D'Alessandro! I'm an author and a publisher.
I was born to an Italian father and an Australian mother in
Brisbane, Australia, in the early 1970s.
At the age of seven, my dad immigrated
to Australia from Italy. Her maternal great-grandparents came from Scotland and
Ireland, and my mum was born and bred in Australia, first in Victorian farm country and then in Brisbane.
I have relatives in Italy, New Zealand, the United States, and
Canada.
I’m the eldest of five children and was raised in Brisbane
and on the Gold Coast.
I graduated from Bond University in 1992 with a law
degree. For 15 years, I worked in government and the private sector
before moving to Sydney in 2000. I founded my own boutique publishing company,
BDA Books, in 2007 while writing my debut crime novel, and entered the banking
and financial services sector in 2010.
While working full-time in the heart of Sydney, I started developing
several other books, which follow my debut crime novel, in my spare
time.
Outside of writing, I enjoy travelling and
photography.
BDA Books is based in the vibrant inner west of Sydney,
Australia, a short distance from famous Sydney landmarks such as the Opera
House, Circular Quay, Darling Harbour, and Luna Park.
It’s not your typical
publishing house.
It’s an independent micro-publisher on a mission to
discover, cultivate, and propel the voices of indie authors into the literary
spotlight.
I believe in the transformative power of storytelling, and I’m
dedicated to bringing fresh, diverse, and thought-provoking narratives to
readers worldwide.
What sets BDA Books apart from the rest? My commitment to
excellence, authenticity, and innovation. I take great pride in writing and curating
high-quality books that resonate on a deeper level, ensuring an unforgettable
reading experience for every page turned.
I’m here to champion emerging authors' voices and celebrate
storytelling's beauty in all its forms.
